Research Grants

10/2019–today
María de Maeztu Fellow (Center for Astrobiology, CAB, INTA-CSIC)

10/2015–09/2019
ESO Fellowship (European Southern Observatory, Chile)
Support astronomer at the VLT including the instruments XSHOOTER, UVEs, FLAMES and ESPRESSO (50% of time) and Astronomy researcher focused on the TROY project (50% of time)

09/2010–07/2015
JAE-PreDoc (Astrobiology Center (INTA-CSIC), Madrid)
Detection and characterization of extrasolar planets by using different techniques. Supervisor: David Barrado Navascués}

06/2010–08/2010
Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship
California Institute of Technology (Caltech)
Identification of substellar members and IR excess sources in Orion nebula: Find the lowest-mass (faintest) substellar members of the Orion Nebula and identify infrared excess sources to extend the knowledge of the star formation in that region.
Supervisor: John R. Stauffer

09/2009–06/2010
Collaboration grant (University of La Laguna, Canary Islands)
Post-experiment analysis of a 3D numerical simulation of the evolution of plasma in the Sun: Study of the results of a 3D numerical experiment about the fluid dynamics, magnetic field and the interaction between the radiation field and plasma in the Sun. Grant awarded by the Science and Education Ministry of Spain.
Supervisor: Fernando Moreno Insertis (IAC)

06/2009–09/2009
ESAC Trainee Project (European Space Agency, ESA, Madrid)
Determination of physical parametres of B-type stars with VOSA in the UV-range: In order to determine the physical parametres of hot O and B stars, we demonstrate that the results using UV spectra are better than using only the visible and infrarred range. We also developed a new way to determine the interstellar reddening.
Supervisors: Carmen Morales Durán, Angello Cassatella and Enrique Solano

2005–2006
Excellence Grant (Complutense University of Madrid)
Near-infrared J- and K-band imaging observations of the UCM galaxy survey: Image composition in different infrarred bands in order to create false color images of the UCM galaxy Survey.
Supervisor: Jaime Zamorano
